Rome is rich with markets of every type, food and not, traditional or more modern. Lets discover together six actual district, loved by both tourists and locals of the Capital. Lets’s start with the “Mercato Centrale“, which is found in the zone of Termini which has a seating capacity of 500. In this area, dedicated esclusively to food, was inaugurated in 2016 and open to the public every day from 8.00 am to 12.00 am . Here, close to Termini station, and important junction of the capitol city, you can find 15 workshops which offers the most divers culinary specialities: Bread, Focacce, sweets, meats, fresh fish, shellfish, salumi, cheeses, pasta, pizza, suppli, kebab, gelato, traditional Sicilian cuisine and Hamburger of Chianina, wines, mushrooms, truffles and much more… A variety of flavours that cannot, not satisfy the fans whom have a passion for gourmet, even vegetarians and vegans, who here can find dishes dedicated to their tastes. The artisans of the taste of the Mercato Centrale are placed in an area covering 1900 square metres placed around Cappa Mazzoniana, an example of visionary architecture designed by Agiolo Mazzoni in the thirties on a wing of the Termini station and providing high quality products. How to get around in Rome: all the information on schedules, metro lines and tickets.

Rome boasts an extensive public transport network, which is undoubtedly the best way for tourists to travel to and from airports and stations or reach places of interest in the city. The subway is the fastest way to move: it has two lines, A (red line) and B (blue lines) that intersect at Roma Termini Central station, the largest in the city. A third line, C, is still to be completed. The subway allows you to reach some of the mayor monuments in the city center: the station “Ottaviano” (line A), is located at the Vatican Museums and St. Peter, “Spagna” station (line A) at Piazza di Spagna ( spanish stairs), while the “Colosseo” station is on line B at the Coliseum and Fori Imperiali. All the subway lines are in operation from 5:30 am until 23:30 in the evening and on Saturday until 1:30 am at night. The Bus network is also extended to the capillary level, it is open from 5:00 am to midnight and there is also an active night service. Origins of Trastevere: Trastevere is one of the districts of Rome, to be precise is’s the thirteenth district, whose name means – Ita. : “Al di là del Tevere“, ( En: Beyond the Tiber river), which takes inspiration from its geographical position. Trastevere, in fact, since ancient time, was the star of hostilities, in part by the Etruscans and Romans, due to the possibility of being able to have control of the river. With the passing of the centuries it has become an area full of small traders with their shops clotting the narrow alleys of this location. In Trastevere you deeply breath in the scent of Rome in the air, the people, the “piazze” (the town squares), the voices, the ” San Pietrini” (cobble stones).
